About Modality Circumcision Service

The Modality Circumcision Service is part of Modality Medical Services Ltd.

We are a major, award winning health care provider in the UK with eight sites throughout Birmingham and Sandwell and employ more than two hundred doctors, nurses, allied health specialists, IT experts, management and administration staff.

Most importantly we are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who regularly review our clinic to ensure we provide the highest standards of care in a safe setting.

The lead clinicians at the Modality Circumcision Service include a GP with specialist accreditation in Dermatology and Minor Surgery. They have carried out more than a thousand circumcisions in all age groups and have trained with some of the leading experts from the UK, Europe and Australia.

We carry out circumcisions for religious, cultural and hygienic reasons in all age groups and have patients travelling from London, Edinburgh, Oxford, Liverpool as well as Europe.

By car: from Fentham Road only. Please note there is no access by car from the Birchfield Road. Hampton Road is now a one way road.

Pedestrian access is available from both the Birchfield Road and Fentham Road.

Bus routes within easy walking distance: 7, 11, 46, 91, 92

A free patient car park is available, although this can be busy at times. If the car park is full, there is on street parking available nearby.

Dr Mahboob Shaafii

Dr Mahboob Shafii is the lead clinician at the circumcision clinic and has carried out more than nine thousand circumcisions in all age groups; the youngest being two days old and the eldest, eighty-two years of age. He is officially accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners as a GPwER in Dermatology.

Dr Fahd Khan

Mr Fahd Khan, MD MRCS(Eng) MCh MIS, FRCS(Urol), is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at City and Sandwell Hospitals, Birmingham. He has a specialist interest in EndoUrology and Stone disease. He undertook his Urological training from the Yorkshire rotation training programme.
